John Lewis Partnerships Customer Delivery Hub in Stanley Green is recruiting for C1 Driver Trainees and 7.5T Installer Trainees.

Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity to become more than just a 'Driver', than apply for the Driver Trainee position where you will complete a 12 month Customer Deliver Driver Trainee programme to become a fully competent John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer which also includes obtaining your C1 Licence.

If you already hold a valid C1 Licence, DCPC and Tachograph Card then the Installer position is for you. You will embark on the John Lewis & Partners Installer accreditation to become a fully qualified Customer Delivery Driver Installer.

These positions are aspiration roles with clear progression pathways.

At a glance: 

Role: CDH (Customer Delivery Hub) Driver Trainee and Installer Trainee

Position: Permanent

Salary: Driver Trainee £11.75ph and Installer Trainee from £27,200 - £33,900 - this would include a 3.1% shift premium when working on the PM shift.

Hours: 41 Per Week, working 4 out of 6 days Monday to Saturday on a 5 week rolling rotation:

  • Monday to Thursday 10:30 - 21:30, Friday 09:30 - 20:30, Saturday 07:00 - 18:00  

  • This works out to working 181 days of the year

With this rota you can enjoy 3 days off each week to maintain a healthy work/life balance and overtime is offered when required so there is potential to top up earnings. You will not work on a Sunday or Bank Holidays.

Due to the nature of this role we require all applicants to be over 18 to apply.

Driver Trainee - Required essential experience skills and qualifications:

  • Full, clean Category B driving licence (standard car driving licence) and previous driving experience ​

  • Must be aged 18 or over

Installer Trainee - Required essential experience skills and qualifications:

  • (UK) C1 driving licence

  • DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card)

  • Tachograph Card

  • Previous experience driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle  

  • Previous experience in a customer facing role

  • Strong verbal communication skills both over the phone and face to face

  • Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (you will spend a lot of time delivering large two man items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses etc... ).

  • Basic understanding of technology
