Learning

We encourage all of our Partners to continually strive to learn and grow in their careers, and it’s no different for our Tech team.

Whether that’s through on-the-job experience through the projects they work on or even through gaining additional qualifications and certifications, Partners have the support of their managers to drive their careers in which ever direction that inspires them the most.

Tech Stack

What tools do we use?

We’re always looking to work with the most cutting edge tech stack. Helping us to create stunning digital experiences for our customers and Partners.

The technologies we work with are heavily influenced by our Engineers themselves. They’re encouraged to bring past experiences in to new projects and given the freedom to choose what they think will work best for the task at hand.

Our Engineering Principles

Our Engineering Principles guide the way that we work on a daily basis. They aren’t hard and fast rules, just simple ideas to ensure consistencies in the projects that we work on.

We’re really proud of our Principles which is why we have made them public for the world to see.

You can find out more about them here.

How we work

Our engineers work in cross-functional Agile Product teams. Team which build and support new features that create business value. Within your product team you’ll typically be working collaboratively on customer-facing features with other highly skilled engineers as well as BAs, Testers, Web Designers and User Experience specialists.

We truly embrace our differences in the Partnership and wholeheartedly believe that it is key to our future success.

Kate

The breadth of my role, from hands on coding one hour to collaboratively making architecture decisions the next means I am always developing professionally.

Partner & Product Engineer

Greg

Our whole team approach to quality means I can concentrate on the fun stuff – improving our engineering processes rather than acting as a gate keeper.

Partner & Product Engineer

Jo

My favourite part of this job is the mentoring of other engineers. Our culture of continuous learning and our communities of interest make sharing a genuinely recognised part of the role.

Partner & Product Engineer

Mo

I was trusted to lead development of our Front End Blueprint. Using it means teams can get an app up and out to production in a matter of hours.

Partner & Product Engineer

Amy

Within a couple of months, I was helping my team dramatically reduce its lead time and cycle time. Making that kind of impact is very rewarding.

Partner Benefits

Even from our early days, we’ve always believed in rewarding our Partners in more ways than one for their contribution and hard-work. We have a huge range of benefits for our Partners to enjoy. Far too many to list here, but these are a few of our Partners’ favourites.

Finance

We have many benefits that can help you financially. Not only do Partner receive generous discounts in both John Lewis and Waitrose, we also have teamed up with many organisations across the country to offer discounts (such as restaurants and travel companies). Based on the performance of the Partnership, you could also be rewarded with a Partnership bonus, paid annually.

Family Support

We understand just how important it is to have the best support in place for you and your family. That’s why we have a range of benefits to do just that. Including our market leading Equal Parenthood Leave available to every Partner, regardless of how they’ve become a parent.

Time Away

Who doesn’t enjoy time away from work? Our time away benefits are here to be enjoyed. Exclusive hotels just for Partners, ticket subsidies, sport clubs and societies and the opportunity to buy an extra weeks holiday every year! What’s not to love?

Health & Wellness

We’re invested in the financial, physical, mental and social wellbeing of all our Partners. Changes in society and the workplace are putting new pressures on workers, and we’re more committed than ever in supporting Partners and helping them fulfil their potential whilst. making sure they are happy, not just in work, but outside of work too.

Flexible Working

The Partnership supports flexible working, such as when, where and how you work. Working flexibly may mean different things to help with your own work-life balance. For example, it might mean flexible or compressed hours, job sharing or shorter hour contracts. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss this further with the hiring manager during your interview.

Pension

The Partnership has a Defined Contribution pension scheme where your contributions will be matched by the Partnership (up to 8% of pay) and, after three years’ service, you’ll receive an additional Partnership contribution of 4% of pay, regardless of whether you pay in or not.
