What will I do as a Customer Delivery Driver?

  • Carrying out vehicle checks
  • Loading deliveries
  • Travelling out on the roads
  • Delivering groceries to the customers door
  • Unpacking their foods
  • Picking customer orders back in the shop or warehouse

Jobs based in our supermarkets include a blend of driving and working on the shop floor where you’ll be continuing to deliver that superb customer service. If you’re someone who loves variety, then this could be a great fit for you.

Customer Delivery Drivers based at our custom-built DotCom Fulfilment Centre handle online orders and delivery around London. They’ll find their role more focused on delivery and driving but may still support the team in the warehouse by picking orders when needed.

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will likely spend quite a lot of time out on the road, but you’ll also be closely supported by other Driving Partners, Team Managers and our nationwide expertise in distribution and delivery.

There may also be further tests carried out in our stores or at the DotCom Fulfillment Centre such as vision or your ability to manoeuvre a larger vehicle.

While previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles will be helpful, if you’re a careful and considerate driver who can deliver our outstanding service right to our customers’ doors then we’ll welcome your application.

We look for the highest standards of customer service, driving etiquette and health and safety as this position is unique among Delivery Driver jobs. That’s because as a Customer Delivery Driver with Waitrose, you’re not just making delivering groceries, but a co-owner of the John Lewis Partnership, the largest employee-owned company in the UK.
