Content Production is a fast paced, constantly evolving department within John Lewis & Partners, producing tens of thousands of pieces of visual content every year for use across multiple platforms. From interpreting the brief, producing and creating concept through to delivery, the Content Production team creates inspiring content that customers love.

There’s an increase in demand for in-house photography and video, both in terms of quantity and quality, so it’s really important that we have the best talent in the business. This requires a broad range of specialisms to work together – ranging from problem solvers and outstanding communicators through to set builders and photographers. The department is primarily based in the John Lewis & Partners Content Production Hub in north west London, but several roles require an element of travel to different sites.
We also shoot across various locations and some partners are required to travel to agencies, our sample warehouse in Milton Keynes or spend some of their working life at John Lewis & Partners Head Office in Victoria.
We produce content for – and with – a wide variety of teams. Many sit within the Partnership itself – such as John Lewis & Partners teams in Buying, Marketing and Online. We also work with a number of external stakeholders like creative agencies and brands. We are committed to delivering excellent customer service in ensuring the brief we receive is successfully fulfilled. The nature of our work means there is often a tension to be managed between meeting creative and commercial objectives – something that makes the roles challenging and exciting.
