Whatever the size and scope of their project, from replacing a carpet in one room to having a whole new kitchen or bathroom designed and installed, we are there to support our customers every step of the way.

Windows Estimator

What Will I Do As A Windows Estimator?

  • As an estimator, you will be mobile across your Region, visiting customers’ homes. Our routing system automatically assigns customers to you and generates a route for you to follow each day, starting and ending at a designated location,,  allowing time for a lunch break.
  • Using your sales, Customer Service skills and product knowledge, you will be responsible for measuring and producing  a quote on window dressing products. This is a customer-facing role that involves providing customers with detailed knowledge and bespoke accurate estimates, using our computerised systems. 
  • The role requires exemplaryCustomer Service, as you will be visiting Customer Homes to complete a full on-site survey for preparation and materials for multiple projects. You will be responsible for providing accurate, error free work, demonstrating excellent communication skills and aim to gain an acceptance of the plans you produce from every Customer, on site where possible. 
  • You will have a small amount of administration time each day, to follow up with customers that have not yet accepted an estimate and answer any emails or queries, action any required revisions. You will be required to keep any  mandatory training up to date, including mandatory weekly and monthly maintenance checks of your allocated vehicle.

Will I Suit This Role?

We look for individuals who are able to work flexibly and  independently and although you are provided with your appointments, time management is key to ensure your day runs smoothly. You will be someone with outstanding Customer focus and a real hunger to sell to the Customer, the product that best suits their needs. 

Estimators are provided with a dedicated, John Lewis & Partners branded van to be used exclusively for work purposes. You will be responsible for performing basic vehicle checks each day and are personally liable for any parking tickets/traffic offence tickets received while in possession of the van.

Kitchen and Bathroom Planner

What Will I Do As A Kitchen & Bathroom Planner?

  • Complete in-home consultations with customers, getting an in-depth understanding of vision & requirements. This includes taking all necessary measurements.
  • Keep up to date with current and classic home design and improvement trends, and use this to guide your customers.
  • Use in house tools and equipment to produce design and final estimates for the project.
  • Opportunities to cross train across services.

Will I Suit This Role?

We look for individuals who are able to work flexibly and independently and although you are provided with your appointments, time management is key to ensure your day runs smoothly. You will be someone with outstanding Customer focus and  a real hunger to sell to the Customer, the product that best suits their needs. 

Planners are provided with access to a John Lewis & Partners branded pool van, via one of the shops in  your region. You will be responsible for performing basic vehicle checks and are personally liable for any parking tickets/traffic offence tickets received while in possession of the van. 

Home Furnishings Installer

What Will I Do As A Home Furnishings Installer?

  • As a Home Furnishings Installer you will be mobile across a Region.  You will be visiting Customer homes, Our routing system automatically assigns Customers to you and generates a route for you to follow each day, starting at a designated start point (where you will collect goods to be installed) and ending the day at the same location,  allowing time for a lunch break 
  • In the customer’s home, you will be responsible for fitting and installing their new window dressing, providing a high level of Customer Service and communication skills.

You will be someone with outstanding Customer focus, attention to detail and a desire to succeed, each time, every time.Installers are provided with a dedicated, John Lewis & Partners branded van to be used exclusively for work purposes. You will be responsible for performing basic vehicle checks each day and are personally liable for any parking tickets/traffic offence tickets received while in possession of the van.

Estimating & Planning Managers

You’ll lead our Partners by example as you inspire your team to achieve success. You’ll already have management potential in our business by being experienced, motivated and ambitious, as well as having People Manager experience in a commercial environment.

Leadership roles at John Lewis aren’t quite the same as anywhere else in the retail industry, and that’s because rather than employees, you’ll be managing a team of Partners who, like you, co-own the business. You’ll need great people skills to build relationships with your team, as you’ll find the Partners in your team will be quick to question business decisions, proactive about what our performance looks like and share in the responsibility of making us a success.

You’ll typically lead and engage a team of around 15 – 20 field Partners, developing them to ensure they meet set operational standards – all whilst delivering the high levels of service we’re renowned for.

The main focus of your role will be inspiring Partners to achieve the highest standards of Customer Service, and sales conversion, as well as nurturing your team’s skills, encouraging Partner development and creating a great working environment for your team that meets all Health and Safety regulations and compliance. You will build great relationships with your Field Team Peers, our branches and Customer Care Teams, supporting the very best End to End Customer Journey.

Field Managers are provided with a dedicated, John Lewis & Partners branded van to be used exclusively for work purposes. You will be responsible for performing basic vehicle checks each day and are personally liable for any parking tickets/traffic offence tickets received while in possession of the van. As a Manager you will also ensure your teams vehicles are maintained and complete regular checks on these also. 

Fitter and Installations Managers

As a Fitter and Installer Manager, you’ll either lead a team of  Partner Installers or Third Party Installers to achieve success. You’ll already have management potential in our business by being experienced, motivated and ambitious, as well as having People Manager experience in a commercial environment.

You’ll need great people skills to build relationships with your team and with Customers, you will also be responsible for recruiting and onboarding a network of Third Party Installers across your region to meet demand who will deliver the John Lewis Magic. 

The main focus of your role will be inspiring Partners and Third Parties to achieve the highest standards of Customer Service, as well as nurturing your team’s skills and encouraging Partner development and creating a great working environment for your team that meets all Health and Safety regulations and compliance. You will build great relationships with your Field Team  Peers, our branches and Customer Care Teams, supporting the very best End to End Customer Journey.
