The festive season is a special time of year in our stores – it’s also the busiest. John Lewis & Partners will be recruiting for seasonal temporary Partners in our shops across the UK from late August/early September 2019 and Waitrose & Partners will be recruiting throughout this period as well.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are passionate about giving great customer service and working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Successful candidates will need to enjoy variety and multi-tasking, be able to pick up things quickly and be flexible with their working hours… and above all, want to work in an exciting and challenging retail environment!

If successful you will be offered a contract which may include weekend, early morning and late night working. There may be the opportunity to increase your hours, particularly in the weeks leading up to Christmas. As a seasonal temporary Partner, you will be required to offer flexibility to the branch during our peak trading period.

Can I apply for more than one Seasonal vacancy in the same branch?

Unfortunately not.  You can only have one live application for a Seasonal role at a time, however, you can express your interest in other Seasonal roles on your application form and discuss these at assessment.

What is the recruitment process?

Once you have successfully completed the online testing you will be invited to complete an online application form. You will then be invited to an assessment centre if your application is successful at that stage.

When will I hear back if I attend an assessment centre?

We will aim to get back to you as soon as possible. Please regularly check the communications centre and your email account for updates. You should receive an outcome within a week of attending an assessment.

If I am successful when will I start?

This will vary between branches and the earliest start dates will be advertised on the vacancy. This would be discussed in more detail at the assessment centre.

Will there be any permanent opportunities available at the end?

At this stage, we do not know our future requirements and this will vary between branches. Should you start in a role with us, you can discuss this with your Line Manager. 

My application has been unsuccessful, can I get some feedback?

Unfortunately due to the volume of requests we receive we are unable to provide feedback after assessment centres or interviews.
