Digital Jobs In The Partnership

Where Are Our Digital Jobs Based?

Our digital teams are located at both our Head Office locations. John Lewis & Partners roles will be based in London, Victoria and Waitrose & Partners roles are based in Bracknell, Berkshire. You should expect a small amount of travel between the two as we work together on many initiatives and projects.

UX Designer Jobs

What Will I Do As A UX Designer?

Your job as a User Experience Designer will be to champion the customer journey and digital experience end to end. You will:

  • Define and deliver new features, test new concepts and wireframe final implementation
  • Iterate on your sketches, user journeys, and complex interactions

Product Engineer Jobs

We’re currently transforming our platform and as a result have exciting opportunities within our Digital Delivery team. You will be involved in a number of areas within delivery and be given the time, support and guidance needed to grow your technical skills and knowledge.

What Will I Do As A Product Engineer?

Within your day-to-day role, you will:

  • Articulate solutions to complex problems
  • Contribute to the delivery of new products or solutions

You should have a passion for software development and be keen to get involved in delivering solutions iteratively and collaboratively. To flourish in our team, you’ll be knowledgeable about agile practices and quality implementation of Java code, including unit tests.

Delivery Lead Jobs

We are transforming our digital platform and ways of working while looking for energetic and talented Delivery Leads to join our agile delivery team. You’ll work across our waitrose.com websites, iOS and Android mobile apps.

You will need to be confident in challenging business requirements to ensure you are continuously delivering the best possible outcome. This includes harnessing innovation, as well as driving adoption of cloud and micro-service technologies and ways of working to deliver business value.

What Will I Do As A Delivery Lead?

As a delivery lead you will need to have energy and drive to:

UX Researcher

If you’re passionate about learning from customers and communicating evidence-based insights in a commercial organisation, then UX Research could be for you.

To be a successful UX Researcher in the John Lewis Partnership you’ll need to be skilled in applying a wide range of user research methods, an expert at involving others in your research process and a passionate champion for making customer needs and behaviour central to a team’s decision-making.

As part of your role, you’ll be given the unique opportunity to research the customer experience across both our digital and physical touch points.

What Will I Do As A UX Researcher?

Your job as a UX Researcher will be to ensure the voice of the customer and their needs are embedded in the development of the end to end experience, both in the digital and physical world. You will:

  • Work across product teams and collaborate with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, Developers and the broader John Lewis Insight function.
  • Plan research, generate hypotheses, recruit targeted participants, create discussion guides and run research sessions to capture customer insights based on the goals and objectives of the projects you work on.
  • Be flexible and effective in the way that you analyse and communicate your findings
  • Collaborate with other members of our Insight function including Customer Research, Analysts and Data Scientists to develop a more holistic view of the customer needs and behaviours
