Where Are Our Digital Roles Based?

Our digital teams are located at both our Head Office locations. John Lewis & Partners roles will be based in London, Victoria and Waitrose & Partners roles are based in Bracknell, Berkshire. Candidates should expect a small amount of travel between the two as we work together on many initiatives and projects.

Product Owner Roles

What will I do as a Product Owner?

We are constantly looking to develop our digital offer to customers. As part of this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for defining your product vision and roadmap using customer insight and data
  • Work collaboratively with business teams, product engineers and UX designers to create new and innovative products and features
  • Deliver in a fast paced, energetic and engaging way

UX Designer Roles

What will I do as a UX designer?

Your job as User Experience Designer will be to champion the customer journey and digital experience end to end.

  • You will work within a dedicated product team working collaboratively with Product Owners, UI Designers and Developers to define and deliver new features, test new concepts and wireframe final implementation.
  • Details are critical as you iterate on your sketches, user journeys, and complex interactions.

UI Designer Roles

Product Engineer Roles

We’re currently transforming our platform and as a result have exciting opportunities within our Digital Delivery team. You will be involved in a number of areas within delivery and be given the time, support and guidance needed to grow your technical skills and knowledge.

What will I do as a Product Engineer?

Within your day-to-day role, you will:

  • Articulate solutions to complex problems
  • Contribute to the delivery of new products or solutions
  • Utilise new and innovative tools to optimise delivery of value to the Partnership

Is this role for you?

You should have a passion for software development and be keen to get involved in delivering solutions iteratively and collaboratively. To flourish in our team, you’ll be knowledgeable about agile practices and quality implementation of Java code, including unit tests.

Delivery Lead Roles

We are transforming our digital platform and ways of working and are looking for energetic and talented Delivery Leads to join our agile delivery team working across our waitrose.com websites, iOs and Android mobile apps.

What will I do as a Delivery Lead?

As a delivery lead you will need to have energy and drive to:

  • Champion agile  best practices, support, guide and coach a high performing, multi-disciplinary team, and help embed a culture of continuous improvement
  • Be a great problem solver, and the ability to remove impediments to enable the optimal productivity of your team.
  • Manage team dependencies when working across team building effective relationships with the other delivery leads , product managers, key stakeholders and wider teams
  • Measure and analyse team performance to create transparency and predictability across your teams.

Is this role for you?

A self-starter who shows evidence of learning and adapting your own agile delivery skills and the ability to lead by example and be a servant leader. You should be a great team player and hungry to continually learn and develop as an individual and contribute to the wider team, celebrating achievement whilst recognising learnings. You will need to be confident in challenging business requirements to ensure you are continuously delivering the best possible outcome, harnessing innovation and driving adoption of cloud and micro-service technologies and ways of working to deliver business value.
