As a Marketing Compliance Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Financial Services Marketing team, serving as the lead accountable Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Financial Promotions. Acting as a bridge between Marketing and our partners in Risk & Compliance, you will ensure that all financial services advertising and retail customer materials consistently meet FCA and ASA expectations while delivering fair outcomes.
Beyond overseeing day-to-day approvals and managing approvals from third-party providers, you will be responsible for the implementation of policies and controls within the Marketing area. You will provide "in-the-moment" advice and constructive challenge to internal stakeholders to ensure our output is right first time, alongside proactively evolving our Financial Promotions framework.
Additionally, as a leader within the team, you will manage a group of Marketing Compliance Managers, focusing on nurturing talent, maintaining high performance standards, and fostering professional development.

Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team meets in the office a minimum 1 day a week to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.
Key responsibilities

Ensuring a clear understanding of relevant FS industry principles relating to Financial Promotions including the ASA, FCA, HMRC, Consumer Credit obligations and all related legal and regulatory obligations for John Lewis Financial Services related business.

Building relationships and leading the relationship with the John Lewis Financial Services Risk & Compliance and Commercial teams to help you deliver right first time, compliant financial promotions that support fair outcomes and minimise any brand or reputational risk to the Partnership.

Working across the Marketing team to ensure that the policies and controls are effective, acting as lead SME.

Leading relationships with John Lewis Financial Services product providers’ compliance teams, taking appropriate actions to enable the provision of right first time/compliant financial promotions that support fair outcomes and minimise any brand or reputational risk to John Lewis Partnership.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need

Significant financial promotions experience working in marketing controls environment, ideally working in banking, insurance, credit or related sector

Experience in working within and developing marketing controls, frameworks and systems and controls

Significant and demonstrable experience in stakeholder management, written and verbal communication, and organisation skills.

Good knowledge and understanding of regulations, laws and codes of conduct relating to financial promotions, including the FCA COBS, ICOBS, and CONC financial promotion rules; Advertising Standards Authority and the Committee of Advertising Practice Codes of Practice, both non-broadcast and broadcast.
