Jamie’s Story
Partner & Merchandise Planner
Hi, I’m Jamie.
I joined the Partnership 14 years ago as a part-time Supermarket Assistant at Waitrose while studying for my A-Levels, and now I am a Merchandise Planner in Waitrose Head Office.
Once I joined the Partnership, I clearly saw how Partners truly and passionately cared for one another – and the business. I began to engage with our local democratic channels, which allow every Partner to give feedback and influence how things are done, what could be working better, and the ultimate direction of the Partnership.

In 2025, I was delighted to be entitled to Equal Parenthood leave when I became a dad for the first time. This outstanding policy allowed me to have up to 26 weeks off work with my partner Jessica and my son, Harry, letting us as a family share many firsts and have quality time together.
During my equal parenthood leave we glamped at The Leckford Estate, which is home to Waitrose’ own farm and water gardens. It was a beautiful few days away from home and incredibly affordable. Another fantastic benefit for Partners.
I attend the Partnership’s Badminton Club every week, where Partners come together in a friendly yet competitive way at a subsidised price. It’s a great way to socialise, stay fit and have fun at the same time!
This year our fantastic Partner benefits team even booked out the Savoy Theatre for a Partner-exclusive performance of Paddington, which was new this year. Previously the Partnership has also had private takeovers at Thorpe Park and Alton Towers, which are always fantastic!
