As a Partner in our business your primary focus is to work collaboratively to create more value for our customers and our business.
You will be responsible for promoting the continued economic and effective provision of services, ensuring that all changes to assets and services are appropriately and accurately controlled and recorded.
You will provide information and advice on issues such as maintenance of Partnership hardware assets, licensing of software, protection of intellectual property and legal obligations. You will set and and maintain Partnership Asset Management policies, procedures and standards, directing and assuring the Service Integrator against these. You will promote commitment to asset control. Lastly you will initiate assessment of consequences and risks arising from decisions to obtain, change or continue the possession or use of an asset, system or service.
You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders across Technology & Transformation (T&T), Procurement, and Legal to ensure full compliance with the Partnership's legal software licensing commitments while proactively driving cost-optimisation strategies. Additionally, you will actively support and partner with these teams during software contract negotiations and vendor disputes.
You will be accountable for the Configuration & Asset management process, and take the lead role in setting and ensuring all Configuration & Asset Management standards and goals are applied and met, securing adherence by all new and changed services.
You will ensure that there are suitable tools available for the discovery and monitoring of assets for licensing and asset management purposes.
You will be accountable for the operation and development of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring that it meets the requirements of the ITIL process owners and the key stakeholders including Service Management, IT Service Desk, Technology Owners and the wider T&T division.

Expected Salary: £75,600 - £115,000 (depending upon experience)

Hybrid Working - This is a hybrid working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the Bracknell Head Office. However, there will also be an expectation to visit other locations as the need arises.

Our team currently works from the office around twice a week to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings, but again the frequency is dependent on the business needs.

Asset & Configuration Management:

Policy & Governance: Set, maintain, and assure adherence to Partnership Asset Management policies, procedures, and standards across all new and changed services

Configuration & CMDB: Take accountability for Configuration and Asset Management standards, working with the Operational SIAM partner to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the CMDB to support ITIL processes.

Software Asset Management (SAM): Provide assurance that the Partnership complies with legal software licensing obligations, optimises spend, and assists in software contract negotiations and disputes alongside Procurement, Legal, and Technology & Transformation.

Hardware Asset Management (HAM): Assure hardware assets are properly controlled throughout their lifecycle and ensure the Operational SIAM partner maintains effective methods and processes.

Tooling & Discovery: Ensure appropriate tools are available for discovering and monitoring assets for licensing and management purposes.

Platform Ownership & Operations:

ServiceNow Platform: Accountable for the operation and development of the ServiceNow platform (particularly ITSM and CMDB) to ensure it meets the requirements of ITIL process owners, Service Management, IT Service Desk, and key stakeholders.

People Management: Directly manage a team of up to 4 direct reports and provide matrix management to service delivery teams.

Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively and engage with senior stakeholders (up to Executive level) and governance groups to align strategy and influence change.

Budget Management: Own and manage operating budgets, financials, third-party vendor relationships, and contracts to maximise business value.

Risk & Process Optimisation: Evaluate consequences and risks arising from asset decisions, continuously improving business processes, frameworks, and tools.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need

ITAM: Significant experience in IT Asset Management

Software Licensing Expertise: Deep experience with software licensing models, particularly for major vendors such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Workday.

Hardware & CMDB Management: Strong practical knowledge and experience of hardware asset lifecycles, asset controls, and Configuration Management/CMDB ownership.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, persuade, and build trust as a high-impact advisor across senior leadership.

Process Transformation: Proven track record of owning business problems and transforming business processes with defined business impact.

Planning & Accountability: Exceptional outcome-focused planning ability, coupled with high personal accountability and integrity under pressure.

Communication Skills: Tailors messaging effectively for diverse audiences across both formal and informal channels.

Experienced in a similar ITAM, backed by relevant industry qualifications.
