Duties & Responsibilities

Our Merchandise team are looking for a passionate individual to lead a team and take responsibility for maximising commercial opportunities. You will use your previous experience and initiative to drive sales through improved availability, budgeting and forecasting.

Working collaboratively is a key part of this role. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders such as Supply Chain, Suppliers, Merchandising Operations, Buying, Marketing as well as all Waitrose sales channels. You will plan the effective delivery of commercial targets while managing the flow of stock and to control inventory levels.

Job Requirements

Your role as a Merchandiser is to plan and deliver an assortment that will maximise sales and margin, using the appropriate planning tools to accurately forecast sales, stock, profit and SKUs each season and by channel. Engaging with internal departments and external suppliers to agree a realistic critical path, minimise risk and enable the effective delivery of commercial targets, you will also work with the Buyer and Supplier Management to maximise sales, supplier contribution and margin.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths
- Proven Assistant Merchandiser experience or equivalent
- A strong communicator and influencer with experience in managing relationships with suppliers or customers
- Commercial awareness of the market place, key competitors and customer behaviour
- Line management experience

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Degree
