Role Title: Section Manager NDC Transport
Position: This is a Permanent Position
Hours of Work: Full Time, 37.5 Hours. Nights shift, working on any 5 from 7 rota.
Working 22:00 - 06:00, including weekends as part of a rota
Salary: £29,900.00 - 44,800.00, Annual
Location: Magna Park 1, NDC
This shift will attract a shift premium of 33.3%, this is a potential additional earning of up to £9,956.70, annually added to your base salary pay.
About the role
As our Transport Section Manager, you will be expected to lead and motivate a team to deliver the business goals of keeping the right stock in the right place at the right time, with the correct level of resources whilst maximising the efficiency of the operation.
You will be required to develop and maintain communication between key stakeholders to ensure communication channels remain effective.
Create constructive relationships with collaborators and motivate them to govern their operational effectiveness and career development.
Our NDC Transport Section Manager will be responsible for:
Maintaining full compliance under current EU driving regulations and the Working Time Directive
To ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to
Plan operational resources for daily and weekly requirements, overseeing a team of Partner drivers, office Partners and agency Drivers
Support the development and flexibility of Partners by identifying skill gaps and arranging further training
Deliver all operational KPIs in line with Partner, Customers, and budget to ensure compliance in line with all business-wide metrics
Support the Department Manager in delivering Partnership plans, initiatives and preparing for peak seasonal volumes.
Prioritise workload in line with service level agreements to enable lead times to be met for both internal and external customers
Communicate and share all relevant information in a timely manner
Develop a culture where teamwork is encouraged with openness and trust, valuing the contributions of all team members
Carry out Partner 1-2-1 check ins within the required time frame including development meetings
Essential skills you’ll need
Previous experience in Supply Chain people management (Transport or Distribution environment)
Maintaining stakeholder relationships & building rapport across teams
High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
Desirable
Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers
Familiar with transport Planning and execution system preferably Microlise or Paragon
Familiar with transport compliance software such FTA (Freight Transport Association or Logistics UK) vision or Trutac.
