What's the role about:
As the Transport Resource Planner you will work alongside the Resource Planning Manager to ensure that the headcount reflects the workflow through the department whilst maintaining budget. Liaising and negotiating with the Distribution Planners to ensure the most cost effective plan is achieved by utilising all valuable resources. Managing Paragon Resource Manager to ensure all drivers, partner and agency, are available and produce daily reports to support the Operational teams.
You will Coordinate and communicate the resource schedule to the Transport Operation Teams, Agency Suppliers and Third Party Hauliers. Monitoring and analysing forecasted headcount volume vs actual and report on trends and opportunities. Maintaining and updating all resource planning tools to ensure they contain accurate data.
You will request agency headcounts through Agency Account Managers and ensure visibility of resource pools are within the agreed timeframe.
You will Coordinate, plan and provide analyses for Partner Driver holidays and annual DCPC course to ensure that the budgeted % is not exceeded.
Manage the Agency Drivers assessment process to ensure the pool size is sufficient in time for key dates.

This is a key support role managing the daily driving resource from our National Distribution Centres. This role will suit someone who is able to plan effectively, whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy is maintained.
Effective relationships will need to be developed and maintained with our Partners and Agency contacts.
High level of communication via email and telephone will be required, so the ability to communicate effectively with a large number of stakeholders is essential.
What you should know:
The role is based at Magna Park, Milton Keynes and involves working a three weekly rota;
07:00 - 15:00, Monday to Friday
10:00 - 18:00, Monday to Friday
12:00 - 20:00, Monday to Friday
An occasional Saturday shift (07:00 - 15:00) will be required to cover annual leave
Essential Skills and Experience:
Good working knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft Excel skills)
Ability to plan and prioritise daily tasks
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Experience in a customer resource focused environment
