The role requires flexibility of working patterns, including weekend, night and evening working on occasions, to meet the operation demands of a 24/7 network.

This role starts in February 2020 at our new Customer Fulfilment Centre in Enfield, which will process and deliver Waitrose & Partners orders across London from Spring 2020.

Duties & Responsibilities

To provide strong leadership across the Transport Department and CFC with full responsibility and accountability for managing the 24 hour, 7 day a week Operation.

Leading Partners, Managers and Temporary Labour in the delivery of exceptional customer service whilst remaining cost effective, ensuring full legal compliance with current EU driving legislation and the Transport Working Time Directive.

To provide input and share best practice to support the current and future E Commerce Transport strategy across the business.

To Manage the CFC in the absence of the General Manager when required.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Senior management experience in a Transport / Distribution environment
Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety and Transport legislation
Experience of dealing with full disciplinary procedures
Experience of creating a strong culture of Continuous Improvement

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

Degree level or equivalent
Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) / Transport Management System (TMS) for Fulfilment Centre Management System (FCMS) and Telematics applications
