Pay rates are negotiable dependent on relevant skills and experience. Each April, we review our pay ranges taking into account market movement. Therefore the pay range for this role may change from the 1st April 2021. For any Partners starting prior to the 15th February 2021 you will have your pay reviewed as part of this annual pay review. Your People Manager will discuss this with you. For any Partners starting on or after the 15th February 2021 your starting pay rate offer will be inclusive of this review.


The key elements needed for this role are:

  • Transport knowledge and experience

  • Analysis experience

  • Transport Modelling experience, using Paragon systems

What you’ll be doing:

  • You'll require agility to respond quickly to changing demands, able to harness and exploit systems with ease and with above average written and verbal communication.

  • You'll need the ability to hold your own in a challenging work environment where change is not always welcome.

  • You'll need a sound understanding of transport operations and the ability to cut to the heart of an issue through logical analysis.

  • You need to be a strong team player, with the ability to cope with ambiguity. You'll work as part of a broader central distribution team, contributing to the generation of concepts and plans to ensure that the business can respond quickly and flexibly to a volatile and changing market.

What you'll have:

  • A levels or Hons Degree, with mathematical or business bias

  • Strong analytical ability, with the ability to work with cross functional teams.

  • Well-developed spreadsheet skills with proven numerate ability.

  • Proven use of transport modelling tools to inform solution design e.g. Paragon.

  • Ability to engage and influence senior Supply Chain leadership team

  • Sufficient Supply Chain or Transport experience to be credible across the Supply Chain Community and the Partnership.

  • Experience and understanding of solution design / modelling.

  • Commercially astute.

  • Results orientated / driven by saving costs.

What else you could bring:

  • Masters Level Qualification

  • Operational modelling in Excel

  • Proven use of network modelling tools to inform solution design.

  • Project management skills

  • Line or task management of teams

  • Experience of distribution in the grocery arena

To lead advanced transport data analysis in support of Distribution transformational activity.

This role centres on transport business development as part of broader business change.
