Duties & Responsibilities

Group Customer Insight (GCI) plays a pivotal role in the Partnership by driving our marketing insights and passion for customer centricity. It ensures we are connecting to our customers in an engaging way and offers them the best possible experience, no matter how they choose to shop.

Our mission in GCI is to not only to optimise our existing data asset through improved quality and richness, but also leverage the power of data by scaling the impact of our analysis. Putting customer behaviour at the centre of our decision-making.

We are now looking for a Test Manager, IT Delivery to help support the GCI mission by devising, implementing and evolving test practice for all project delivery within the Partnership Customer Database (PCD) environment.

The PCD is a Data Warehouse that centralises data from over 120 different sources across the Partnership, creating a single customer view which allows us to serve our customers better.

Job Requirements

To deliver against the accountabilities for this role, the Test Manager will be expected to -

• Work with Divisional & GCI business and technical project/test managers to support definition of a clear integrated test strategy
• Take ownership for PCD test practice across projects/delivery

• Assess/introduce test methodologies & tools as appropriate, aligned with Partnership strategy, to support optimal implementation of the PCD test strategy
• Introduce, document and govern methodology to support the practical delivery of test across all types of project
• Collaborate with the Partnership's test communities to ensure consistency & best practice and to drive continuous improvement

• Provide authoritative test guidance to project managers and senior business stakeholders to support project test
• Lead/assure the test effort across projects, providing practical support and management
• Educate team re test strategy & approach, ensuring a solid common understanding across all roles
• Represent PCD projects across the Partnership across the test discipline
• Assist with the definition of test objectives

Test Delivery
• Work closely with the PCD Environment Manager to define & maintain standard test environments, including test data
• Assure scope & quality of all test delivery across projects within the PCD environment

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- Strong experience of test best practice and available methodologies & tools
- Strong experience of IT project development & delivery methodology
- Strong experience of IT project governance
- Good awareness & experience of IT project management methodology
- Prior experience as Test Manager or Test Lead within a data warehousing environment

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Experience of data warehouse test practice within a retail environment
- Experience of data warehouse test practice within a marketing/insight environment
