What's the role about?
We’ve created a Partnership Plan which is designed to build a growing and sustainable Partnership in a very dynamic set of markets, some existing and some new. For Merchandising Operations it is a critically important time to invest in the future of the Partnership’s Food and Grocery business, delivering significant customer benefits through improved availability, financial benefits through reduced wastage and reduced stockholding, operational benefits through increased efficiency, and Partner benefits through improved stock management processes.
As part of the Merchandising Operations team you will be focused on identifying and leading development and transformational change to achieve greater capability, efficiency and effectiveness of Merchandising and its role in the end to end supply chain. You will develop and promote the Centre of Excellence for best practice across Merchandising. You will provide technical support to, and be a point of escalation for Merchandising Partners, actively resolving issues and communicating any changes, whilst delivering Continuous Improvement in the core planning processes, identifying BAU opportunities and effectively landing change from new system upgrades.

What will you be doing?
Identifying gaps in system functionality and influencing system vendors through industry user groups to deliver the necessary upgrades when required.
Training, coaching and providing ongoing support to all Merchandising Partners, with all systems in use, to ensure they are technically competent to deliver business results.
Optimising the critical replenishment system parameters affecting the whole of Merchandising in order to deliver Trading KPIs, and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
Identifying barriers to change and working with the Merchandising Leadership team to reduce resistance.
Ensuring GSCOP, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Engaging with other retailers globally to ensure that best practice is identified, evaluated and implemented where appropriate
What you’ll have have
Evidence of using systems such as SAS, JDA and Oracle for merchandising (or similar).
Evidence or working on projects to deliver system solutions.
Delivery of training to build knowledge and understanding.
