Duties & Responsibilities

Leckford Estate is Our Place in the Hampshire Countryside.

You'll be working as part of a talented team to ensure the efficient day to day running of the kitchen, producing menus to a high standard and taking responsibility in the absence of the Head Chef while maintaining sales, reputation and profit of the kitchen.

Job Requirements

The role of the Sous Chef involves assisting in the day to day running of the kitchen, working with the Head Chef to produce agreed menus to a high standard, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation at all times. Controlling stock, minimising wastage and developing effective working relationships with other departments.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Our Sous Chef operates as a valued member of the Catering team, assisting the Head Chef and deputising in their absence. You'll have a passion for food and be motivated to invent, produce and present quality dishes.

Compliance with all food safety policies, procedures and practices is essential when working in catering.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

Relevant professional chef qualifications: City and Guilds Diplomas in professional cookery, BTEC HNC in professional cookery or equivalent.
Food Safety Level 3 (will be trained within 3 months).
