Duties & Responsibilities

We are recruiting a Service Improvement Specialist to lead the optimisation of an end to end process on behalf of the Process Owner. In this role you will partner with stakeholders to execute a service improvement strategy through a portfolio of initiatives, from concept to business case realisation.

You will also support an adoption of a Lean Continuous Improvement Culture within the area of the business you support.

The role will primarily be focused on the Account to Report end to end process within the Finance Function, although could flex to other processes in the longer term. The appointment is on a permanent basis, located in Bracknell.

Job Requirements

Service Improvement Portfolio:
- Engage with the Process owner and other leaders to identify, prioritise and structure a portfolio of improvement initiatives
- Ensure delivery of tactical and strategic projects for the end to end process, working with programme and project teams
- Ensure that there is effective change management arising from the process improvement portfolio
- Lead the development of business cases and get approval for investment (including inclusion of funds in the business plan)
- Ensure that benefits are realised by working with the various operational areas and others.

Delivery of Lean & CI Process Improvement Initiatives:
- Structure, lead and coach Lean CI projects including Rapid Improvement Events to deliver process improvements
- Use superb communication, engagement and facilitation skills, combined with the agreed Lean CI toolset to engage participants and stakeholders in identifying and owning the improvements
- Partner with operational managers to sustain results

End to End Value Stream / Service / Process Leadership:
- Create value stream mapping for the process in scope using standard tools and methods
- Engage stakeholders to create an end:end process vision and strategy to which improvement initiatives are aligned to.
- Collaborate with operational managers and other stakeholders to ensure robust dashboards are in place for the process

Commercial
- Benchmark the process in scope for performance, price,
productivity, process, quality etc.
- Horizon scanning of industry initiatives relevant to the process

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have the following experience/skills:
- Qualified Accountant or have substantial experience in Finance Account to Report processes
- Lean/CI processes in a financial environment
- Proven track record in owning and driving efficiencies in end to end processes

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

Although not essential, the following skills/experience will be advantageous:
- Green belt six sigma or equivalent in house CI training
- Shared Service experience
- Functional knowledge relevant to the end to end process / service you support (e.g. accountant for Account to Report, etc)
