Duties & Responsibilities

John Lewis & Partners have a fantastic opportunity for a tenacious and enthusiastic SEO Manager - Internal Communications to join our growing SEO team to deliver outstanding coverage for our market-leading content.

Liaising closely with the Digital Marketing and External Communications teams, you will define and execute the SEO outreach strategy, ensuring the success of our content marketing by delivering high quality placements.

To achieve this, you will be a confident influencer adept at building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with key influencers and publishers. A passion for digital marketing will be crucial, as will previous experience of developing and coordinating outreach and creative campaigns from end-to-end.

Job Requirements

We are looking for a process-driven SEO expert, utilising your technical skills to deliver brand goals whilst building authority and traffic to the John Lewis & Partners website. You'll have a passion for the details, bringing creativity and flair to the work which you undertake.

Analytical skills and a strong grasp of off page metrics will enable you to make proactive and data driven decisions to make more effective use of traffic-driving content to maintain our market share and generate cost-effective sales.

As the role develops, we will look for the successful candidate to build and develop a team of subject matter experts, inspiring and coaching them to deliver our key customer goals, and instilling and fostering a culture of high performance and customer-centric thinking.

This role is based in London Victoria, with travel to other Partnership locations or external clients as reasonably required.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- SEO Expertise, with demonstrable experience in outreach and creative campaigns.
- Solid understanding of off page metrics.
- Experience with tech tools such as ahref, Moz, Majestic SEO, Google Analytics, SEMrush.
- Thorough understanding of outreach best practices, particularly within link prospecting tools such as Buzzstream, Gorkana etc.
- Experience of understanding customers, tone of voice and ability to drive performance whilst protecting brand values.
- Ability to work at pace towards challenging deadlines.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills at all / senior levels.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Experience of leading a team, coaching and developing individuals.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Evidence of negotiating commercially compelling agreements.
- Experience of working in a communications and media environment with a focus on retail, news, features, and fashion.
- Experience of wider digital marketing channels and how they influence SEO and vice-versa. (Specifically PPC, Affiliates and Social Influencer Marketing).
- Knowledge of mobile app promotion and marketing.
