What's the role about?

As the SEO Executive you will provide research and insight to support the delivery of SEO activity and other critical business projects. The role combines creativity and analysis as the responsibilities will cover all aspects of SEO: content, campaigns, technical and reporting.

You will implement day to day optimisations to SEO campaigns by implementing on-page optimisation, including writing metadata and building internal links. Contribute to content campaign strategy, performing keyword research, content gap analysis and post-campaign analysis.

You will be a process-driven influencer,a creative thinker, with a strong attention to detail and willingness to support the SEO agenda across multiple teams in a high pressure environment.

What will you be doing?

  • Collate regular analysis and KPI reporting to tell the story focusing on key learnings, provide market context or future opportunities which will assist in quick decision-making to mitigate risk

  • Utilise any available tools such as Searchmetrics, Sistrix, MajesticSEO, Ahrefs, Moz and SEMRush to research competitor’s strategy and analyse market trends feeding insights into the team

  • Proactively support SEO strategy implementation and optimisation across digital touchpoints for John Lewis including offsite, onpage and site architecture

  • Assist with SEO activity for local and international markets. Tailor plan and campaigns per regional strategy

  • Support a team and strive to become a subject matter expert to deliver John Lewis customer goals within the overall context of balancing sales and contribution whilst delivering a consistent brand experience.

What you’ll have

  • Experience in SEO role in E-Commerce or Retail highly desirable

  • Ability to support, provide insights to drive processes and meet deadlines

  • A proactive and curious problem solver that will look to find the answers, but equally know when to ask for help

  • Passionate about Digital Marketing, follow industry trends and dedicated to growing your career in SEO

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel / Google sheets / Google Workspace.

What else you could bring?

  • Experience of tracking and analytics tools including Omniture, GA & GSC

  • Be familiar with a range of SEO tools (e.g. Ahrefs, Botify, Screaming Frog)

  • Familiarity with developer tools and how to understand a website from a code base

  • Familiarity with content management, Copywriting techniques.
