The purpose of the Value team is to provide best in class insight and analytics to the business on our strategy, frameworks and performance of our key value metrics. As the Trade Planning Space Analyst you will be accountable for setting the pricing and promotions framework driven from the Customer Strategy and ensuring Commercial delivery in line with the framework.

You'll support the definition of and to deliver a Pricing and Promotions strategy that supports the overall Waitrose & Partners business plan, is aligned to the Future Customer Strategy.

This role will be the best suit someone who has a strong level of analytical ability, including significant experience of complex financial modelling and analysis, performed at pace with a high level of accuracy

You will the proven ability to distill complex analysis into clear findings and recommendations that can be easily understood and acted upon by the business

Job Requirements

Lead the analysis of Waitrose & Partners pricing and promotional activity and proactively make recommendations to reassure customers on the value.
Coach the Waitrose & Partners Pricing and Promotion team to drive increased commercial impact of analytical capabilities through appropriate stakeholder management.
Provide critical insight and analytics on implications of changes to customer direction both short term and long term across the key commercial metrics.
Alongside the trade planning team, deliver meaningful insight and analysis of event performance to a best-in-class standard.
Provide recommendations and implications for promo cap target and secondary space allocation to deliver the customer plan, supporting the delivery of c.£480m incremental sales and c.£180m incremental margin.
Accountable for the strategic development of data collection methodology, data management and reporting outputs.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Degree level or equivalent qualification essential
Extensive operational experience
Demonstrable proficiency in using programmes such as Excel, Powerpoint
Proven experience in analytical tools e.g Brandview
Strong level of analytical ability, including significant experience of complex financial modelling and analysis, performed at pace with a high level of accuracy
Proven ability to distill complex analysis into clear findings and recommendations that can be easily understood and acted upon by the business
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, and able to connect and influence at all levels across the Partnership
Demonstrable evidence of providing strong analysis and insight which have identified issues and opportunities that have added value to a business
Demonstrable experience of framing issues, conclusions, and recommendations to enable quick decision making
Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects at the same time
Proven ability to work independently, with minimal direction, to drive results
