We currently have a permanent and 12 Month Fixed Term contract available.
This role is known internally as 'Senior Analyst, John Lewis Insight'

Duties & Responsibilities

The new JL Insight function has been created to build even greater capability in analytics and research which is expected to create significant value for John Lewis in the next 12-24 months. We're building a team of people who are curious, engaging, highly skilled, commercial - and who want to have an impact in this fast-changing area.
As Senior Analyst, you will be a technical analytics and insight specialist known for delivering actionable insight based on sound data analysis; integrating multiple sources, to improve productivity, profitability and customer experience. You will deliver actionable insight rather than data. You will work directly with the Online teams.

Job Requirements

With an initial assignment working within the Online team, this role will suit someone with a proven track record in online retailing, who is already in a role that includes data and and who possesses sound commercial skills. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an agile environment, working to tight deadlines and who can influence to a high standard.
You will also be responsible for producing informative actionable insight based on sound data analysis, proactively identifying opportunities to improve website performance and improving trading performance to drive sales. Ultimately, you will tell the story of the customer's interaction with the website, pulling together complex data from disparate sources to form solid and useful business intelligence whilst delivering conclusions and recommendations rather than data.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have the following skills/experience:
- Education to degree level or equivalent
- Strong Adobe Analytics/Google Analytics Experience
- Ease at analysing complex data set
- Proactive stakeholder management and engagement
- Ability to synthesise complex information into clear narratives

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

Although not essential, the following skills/experience will be advantageous:
- Understanding of SQL databases and queries Hitwise experience
- Additional web analytics tool to Site Catalyst considered (e.g. Core Metrics, Google Analytics)
- Online marketing analytics experience or web trading experience.
- Online retail experience
- Planning and prioritisation
- 3+ years in website optimisation role
- Good commercial experience e.g. web trading
- Experience supporting an MVT or A/B testing programme
