At a glance

This is a hybrid working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the London/ Head Office. However, there will also be an expectation to visit other locations as the need arises. 

The salary range for this role is set at £57,000 to £91,200

About the role

This role is a brand new role within the John Lewis Financial Services Marketing team. You'll be working closely with our Partners in Risk & Compliance to ensure that all advertising and promotional material that is issued to our customers meets ASA and FCA expectations. You will also have a broader role to make sure that the policies and controls within the Marketing area are implemented appropriately.

You will be the accountable compliance SME for Financial Promotions and will work directly with Marketing, providing in-the-moment advice and guidance, and when appropriate, delivering the right challenge to internal stakeholders - to ensure that our marketing material is always right first time.

You’ll take a proactive role in making sure that Marketing adheres to the Financial Promotions framework, and associated controls and policies, and will work with Risk & Compliance to identify, deliver and embed continuous improvements to it. 

We are looking for someone that hit the ground running from Day 1 and will have an opportunity to  be part of the John Lewis Partnership Fiance Services Team and play a key part in the Partnership Plan as we upscale our offer from our brand.

Please note this role is also known as a Senior Marketing Compliance Officer externally.

Essential Skills 

  • Significant experience working in the relevant market, i.e. ideally banking/Financial Services.

  • Experience in the approval of financial promotions, or other relevant compliance experience.

  • Significant and demonstrable experience in stakeholder management, written and verbal communication, and organisation skills

  • Good knowledge and understanding of regulations, laws and codes of conduct relating to financial promotions, including the FCA COBS, ICOBS, and CONC financial promotion rules; Advertising Standards Authority and the Committee of Advertising Practice Codes of Practice
