This role is known internally as 'Senior Analyst, John Lewis Insight'

Duties & Responsibilities

The new JL Insight function has been created to build even greater capability in analytics and research which is expected to create significant value for John Lewis in the next 12-24 months. We're building a team of people who are curious, engaging, highly skilled, commercial - and who want to have an impact in this fast-changing area.
As Senior Analyst, Marketing you will:
- Proactively collaborate with stakeholders within digital marketing to identify key trends, opportunities and communicate results
- Make recommendations to support optimisation and efficiency across all channels.
- Build and develop predictive models and forecasts
- Be a technical analytics and insight specialist known for delivering relevant, actionable insight rather than data.
- Drive understanding of John Lewis and Partners' customers, their behaviours and to drive profitability, productivity and improve customer experience
- Support in developing actionable reports and dashboards, streamlining and automating wherever possible
- Be confident telling stories, and landing recommendations with both technical and non technical audiences

Job Requirements

With an initial assignment working within the Marketing team, this role will suit an individual with experience in data/analysis, ideally in a digital environment. You will possess sound commercial skills and have a proven track record in problem solving. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an agile environment to tight deadlines and who can influence to a high standard.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have the following skills/experience:
- Education to degree level or equivalent
- Experience/exposure to digital marketing analytics (e.g. Adobe, the Doubleclick stack, AdWords, Google Search Console)
- Enthusiasm for digital marketing with at least basic knowledge across the channels
- Keen commercial awareness
- Proactive stakeholder management and engagement -Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear narratives

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

Although not essential, the following skills/experience will be advantageous:
- Understanding of SQL databases and queries Hitwise experience
- Additional web analytics tool to Site Catalyst considered (e.g. Core Metrics, Google Analytics)
- Online retail experience
- Experience forecasting and predictive modelling
- Planning and prioritisation
- Proven experience in online/analysis based role
- Good commercial experience e.g. web trading
- Experience supporting an MVT or A/B testing programme
