As the Senior Data Steward, you will be the first contact for all decisions relating to Partnership data, specific to your domain, ensuring our business is compliant with GDPR and all related legislation. This will include operational processes and data which are held in source systems. You will also be accountable for ensuring new project initiatives meet business requirements for data domain management.

The key elements to this role are:
1. On an individual project by project basis, act as the data SME.
2. Be accountable for all queries domain specific within the partnership about how data is captured and processed.
3. Develop and manage the governance of data across the partnership, presenting recommendations and benefits to
senior stakeholders and ensuring safeguards are in place to manage data risks.
4. Responsible for facilitating the reporting of compliance and KPI's to the data owner and governance groups.
5. Accountable for ongoing management and accuracy of the record of processing, a key legal document.

Job Requirements

The core part of this role is to provide a positive experience to our customers, through a simpler and secure experience when interacting with the John Lewis Partnership brands. This role requires a keen eye for spotting opportunities for continuous improvement and influencing stakeholders at many levels to deliver these. You must have experience in working in a pressured data-related environment and be able to effectively manage your own time, the workflow of the team and expectations of our customers and external suppliers.

The Partnership's ultimate purpose is the happiness of all its members, through their worthwhile and satisfying employment in a successful business. Because the Partnership is owned in trust for its members, they share the responsibilities of ownership as well as its rewards - profit, knowledge and power.
