This is an exciting and challenging time to be joining the Partnership. Retail is facing unprecedented structural and permanent change. The Partnership is actively driving its strategy to financially secure the organisation and to grow and differentiate our customer offer, whilst putting Partners at the heart of our business. However the prevailing retail conditions mean that we must increase our pace to transform and also simultaneously secure significant efficiency savings across the business.

Last October, we brought together two pieces of strategic review work in IT and Change into a single integrated Technology & Change Strategic Review. Since then, we've launched a new, integrated Technology & Change function for the Partnership. This will significantly improve our ability to efficiently develop and deliver new customer propositions and business capabilities at pace. The transition to this new integrated pan-Partnership operating model will be a highly significant undertaking and will be delivered over the next 18-24 months in a number of stages.
As a senior communications manager aligned to the Technology & Change function, you'll business partner the Chief Information Officer (a member of the Partnership's Executive Team) and his senior leadership team. You'll work closely with IT and Group Communications to create and deliver effective communications plans to help drive their complex and challenging strategic agenda - driving excellent communications within the function and telling the IT story to the wider Partnership.
You'll be also be responsible for setting wider communications strategy across the business through appropriate channels, creating amazing content, communications coaching, and planning. You'll have a real passion for helping stakeholders deliver communications in an authentic and simple way, to ensure that all internal communications start with Partners at the heart of them.
Experience in delivering change communications within a large company is essential. Experience in communicating IT change is desirable.

Job Requirements

- Lead the delivery of the Technology & Change communications strategy within the IT function and across the Partnership.
- Play a key role in project managing communications and resourcing issues within Group Partner Communications.
- Quickly understand the Technology & Change strategy to be able to provide effective communications counsel and delivery to senior stakeholders.
- Quickly understand Technology & Change priorities to provide effective challenge and counsel to leaders and air traffic control messaging across the communications landscape.
- Build relationships with senior Technology & Change stakeholders and the wider business.
- Work with the other teams in the wider Group Communications directorate to deliver a consistent and holistic communications strategy.
- Support the development of senior executives' internal visibility and provide counsel on communication issues.
- Ensure an expert level of quality assurance is brought to bear around all communications from the IT leadership team.
-Strive for collaboration across the Group and Divisional communications teams.
- Deputise for the Group Head of Partner Communications as and when required.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications


- Degree level education or equivalent qualification.
- A strong interest in furthering the aims of the Partnership and its ownership model through powerful and world class communications.
- Proven and tangible experience of creating and delivering change communications strategy within a large company through a major transformation.
- Experience of being a communications business partner, working with senior leaders.
- Strategic thinker, able to understand the key business drivers and convert them into relevant campaigns/messages.
- Experience of leading communications campaigns through a broad portfolio of communication channels, including social media.
- Experience of working in a pressured, fast paced and ambiguous environment.
- Experience of delivering communications in a matrixed organisation with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience of line management.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Professional qualifications in communications
- Retail experience in a senior communications role
- Experience in communicating IT change.
