Duties & Responsibilities

• Leadership of the Fashion Marketing team
• Supports the Head of Category Marketing in the development of the marketing strategy for Fashion, aligned to customer insight / strategy, brand strategy, commercial priorities and category roles.
• Ensures brand consistency of all category marketing activity, collaborating with internal channel specialists, in-house design teams and external agencies to maximise creative cut-through and optimise customer experience and commercial impact.
• Accountable for the strategic briefs for category marketing, rooted in customer insight, collaborating with channel specialists to ensure effective marketing campaigns & content are delivered across all of the 360° marketing mix and customer touch-points.
• Sets objectives and customer & commercial KPI's for category marketing activity aligned to the overall marketing strategy & plan and communicates these to the wider set of stakeholders to enable seamless delivery.
• Responsible for recommending and managing the category marketing budget across all channels, holding operational responsibility to utilise the agreed budget and allocating resources effectively. Also accountable for the forecasting and tracking of expenditure against budget
• Accountable for analysis and evaluation of category marketing activities to ensure key stakeholders understand the marketing performance, building learning into future plans/briefs to optimise ROIs.
• Builds effective relationships with Commercial and Retail leadership teams and a wide range of senior stakeholders internally, strategic brands and external agencies/suppliers in order to drive efficient joined-up delivery of the category marketing plan.
• Blends the needs of our customers and our brand with the commercial needs of the category to ensure our category marketing activities are rooted in customer insight, build the brand and drive incremental customer & profit growth through category sales.

Job Requirements

The Senior Category Marketing Manager is responsible for setting and delivering the Fashion marketing plan and budget, designing and executing 360° category marketing campaigns which build a seamless omni-channel customer experience of the John Lewis brand for the category, delivering against commercial and brand growth objectives.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

• Significant Fashion marketing experience in a high profile multi-channel consumer brand
• Demonstrable experience in marketing communications and campaigns across all consumer channels, and of managing advertising and media buying agencies.
• Strong commercial awareness with accurate forecasting and budget control
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships, including those with third party brands and suppliers.
