Duties & Responsibilities

Here at the John Lewis Partnership, we've recently transformed our Finance team to create a function that is truly world-class. We've centralised the majority of our teams to create a single, unified Finance function to support both our brands - John Lewis and Waitrose.

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant based at our Head Office in Bracknell on a 12 month fixed term basis.

Job Requirements

In this role, you will deliver accounting information and high-level commentary for our Branch and Distribution divisions and Finance Business Partners. You will ensure the integrity of our accounts through your expert advice and guidance.

As we've only recently centralised our Finance function, you'll have the opportunity to shape and develop how your team interacts with other teams, and how they work to provide high quality outputs for internal customers.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to develop a deep understanding of the commercial dynamics of the Retail Sector, and the resulting business expectations, drivers, key events, and decisions that impact the Partnerships' accounts.

Having a diverse experience in Consulting, Accounting, and/or Financial Reporting will ensure that you have the depth of accounting skills required, along with the stakeholder and relationship management skills essential for providing excellent service in this role.

More specifically, you'll need:
- Accounting Qualification (ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant Accounting experience
- Experience of Financial reporting / analysis
- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and customer service delivery
- Ability to understand complex, end to end business and accounting processes

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Experience of working in a similar role within High-street Retail or FMCG
- Experience or Oracle Financial Systems
