Job Requirements

This role will review and interpret legislation impacting upon the safety, labelling, advertising and sale of Waitrose products (food and non-food) in order to develop policy, procedures and guidance that enable Waitrose to comply with legislation effectively, supporting the Technical & CSR Department and wider Commercial, Marketing and Retail teams.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Law Degree or equivalent




Experience of interpreting and applying legislation in a food retailing or manufacturing environment including one or more of food labelling, merchandising and marketing
Strong communication and influencing skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to operate across all areas and levels of an organisation
Strong analytical and planning skills

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

Diploma In Consumer and Trading Standards
Qualified Trading Standards Practitioner
Wide experience in different product categories or food and non-food labelling, merchandising and marketing legislations
Experience of enforcement authorities and practices
Personnel management experience
