What’s the role about?
The purpose of this role is to create ranges and space our customers love. You will lead the ranging and assortment decisions for Waitrose on specific layouts and for specific Category Proposition Groups (CPG). The goal is to drive sales and profit density, creating efficient plans for our Retail shops and curating the best product choice for our customers through analytics, great stakeholder collaboration and via the creation and delivery of outstanding planograms.
These are unique roles, as you will have end to end accountability for the insight-led range selection for our different shops/channels (think like and also with the need to be able to create brilliant planograms for our shops and customers using our complex space management system.
The ideal candidate will have analytical experience, used to making decisions based on this insight and comfortable with learning and using complex systems (Space management tools would be ideal). They will have an unrelenting focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. You must be able to build positive working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and have the ability to engage and challenge both yourself and others. The ability to use data to inform commercial decision making is critical to being successful in this role.
Please note, the salary range for this role is: £43,700 - £60,000
What you’ll be doing as a Range Analyst and Planner
The delivery of brilliantly curated, mission appropriate ranges for our customers across all channels
Building planograms that are easy to shop, make our quality and value credentials clear and are as efficient as possible
Understand the performance of your range and space (Profit density,Shop efficiency, customer flow)
Delivering the Partnership, channel and category objectives through great ranging
Strong visual merchandising in fixture
Balancing Commercial and customer outcomes
Accuracy of planograms

What you’ll have:
Experienced in detailed shop/product level ranging analytics and leading decisions on this. e.g. building MCRs, building ranges to fit different cluster needs, challenging master range needs.
Experienced in using complex systems - ideally space management systems.
Proven ability to own multiple layouts and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
Ability to deliver excellent results under time pressure
Proven Attention to detail and proactive ownership of task and role
Strong judgement in all situations, adapting approach to deliver the best outcome
Experience delivering results in a fast paced, multi stakeholder customer-centric team
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong analytical skills with advanced use of data modelling and analytics tools
