The Commercial Directorate has a key role to play, working in partnership with suppliers to deliver innovative sourcing, buying, pricing and distinctive ranging of our branded and own-label products.

Job Requirements

- Implement a product assessment programme against attributes and specification at suppliers, Waitrose & Partners distribution and branches to ensure consistent delivery of quality standards.
- As part of quality assessment investigation and/or as directed, undertake supplier assessment and review visits, supporting quality assessment and wider department technical supplier management, working with category teams as appropriate.
- Conduct targeted product quality assessments.
- Create and circulate routine quality reports for a designated range of Waitrose own-label products and suppliers to engage support from category and commercial teams to drive product quality.
- Develop and co-ordinate the process for quality benchmarking. Support category teams to identify what follow up action is required, document and review and drive completion of these actions.
- Enter, update and accurately maintain product inspection data relating to quality in the relevant Food Technology database

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- Experience of technical / development or quality assurance role
- Basic data analytical/statistical analysis skills.
