Duties & Responsibilities

Transformation is the key to ensuring a successful and sustainable future for Waitrose. In this role, you will play an influential role in designing the future of our business.

By working with business subject matter experts and specialist change design teams in IT and Personnel, you will provide analysis and insight to define and develop the Waitrose operating model. This includes designing how we can implement new capabilities, or make our operation more efficient through recommendations for people, process and technology.

You will influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across directorates to ensure the future operating model design is consistent across the organisation and that decisions are made with full knowledge of end-to-end consequences.

In this role you will also have the opportunity to work with external consultants and learn from their approach and industry knowledge.

Job Requirements

We are looking for an individual who has excellent and proven stakeholder management skills and who can collaborate and influence at all levels of the organisation. It is essential to be able to question and challenge proposals to ensure decisions are made with all of the relevant information and considerations. Great verbal and written communication is also required.

The successful candidate will also quickly be able to understand how unfamiliar areas of the business work and will connect diverse activities and identify end-to-end consequences of operating model changes. In addition, we require someone with the ability to think strategically about the future and who can take a logical approach to problem-solving.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- Strong analytical ability
- Experience of complex financial modelling and analysis
- Extensive stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Demonstrable evidence of providing analysis and insight, identifying risks and opportunities
- Demonstrable experience of framing issues, conclusions and recommendations to enable quick decision making
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects at the same time

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Operational Experience (Retail, FMCG, or equivalent)
- Consultancy background
