This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Online Launch Specialist on a 12 month fixed-term contract basis.

We are looking for a number of Launch Specialists to take on the vital role of getting products set up for our John Lewis website and shops to consistently delight our customers. By requesting, uploading & validating accurate, complete product data & digital assets ahead of stock arriving in the warehouse. 

You will be confident working at pace but also to a high degree of accuracy, working as part of a team of Launch Specialists on a diverse selection of products depending on the day's priorities. 

You will work closely with our external suppliers and a number of internal teams, to maximise the customer experience and to drive search, conversion and sales of John Lewis products.  You will manage high volumes of data in our Product Information Management tools, to ensure that all new products are created and enriched to JL standards within the relevant SLAs. With overall line management for this role sitting under the Product Launch Manager for your core assigned area.

What will you be doing?

You will have to prioritise work, managing multiple deadlines simultaneously through effective critical path management to ensure SLAs are met, completing some or all of the following activities;

  • New Lining - working with Trading counterparts and virtual RPA workers to ensure PO Mandatory data is complete, so that a SKU can be created 

  • Enrich - use knowledge of assigned assortment areas to obtain all selling data and digital assets required to launch products from suppliers

  • Ticketing - populate selling data to create Shelf Edge Labels (SELs) and provide advice/support on queries 

  • Use & manage workflow data in relevant systems to ensure all of the above is completed on time

  • Take responsibility for Item Maintenance, using reporting to complete relevant actions

  • Onboard new suppliers to John Lewis, ensuring they understand and can complete our digital launch requirements, providing ongoing training and support for both existing and new product launch processes when implemented

  • Seek opportunities to drive continuous improvement to existing processes and act as a subject matter expert for launch activities

  • Acting in accordance with the Partnership’s purpose and democratic principles, constructively participating in co-ownership, and demonstrating to customers and each other that it is a better way of doing business. What you'll have:

  • Experience handling different types of data, with a keen eye for detail

  • Strong time management, prioritisation and problem solving skills

  • The ability to work in a team with strong communication skills

What else could you bring?

  • Experience of a product launch process

  • Experience of working in an operational team

  • Experience of working in a retail or eCommerce environment

  • Working knowledge of excel and data management
