At a glance:
This is a hybrid working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home with regular and ad hoc visits to our Head Offices in Victoria and Bracknell, or at our conference centre in Cookham, near Maidenhead. 

Contract type: This position is for a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a part time position working between 12-16 hours per week, with actual hours and days of work / work patterns to be discussed with candidates.

Salary: The range is £84,000 - £105,000 p/a (pro rata at 35 hours per week)

About the role:

The Partnership Wellbeing team brings together Occupational Health, Health Propositions & Operations, Wellbeing Support, Wellbeing Benefits and our Partnership hotels, into one holistic service and focuses on all aspects of physical health, mental health, domestic health (including financial support) and social wellbeing (leisure and community).

As one of two Occupational Health Physicians you will be one of the Wellbeing team’s subject matter experts on key clinical areas and the point of escalation for second opinions and case reviews of our most challenging cases.

You will provide clinical guidance to Occupational Health Advisors and Managers in complex medical cases. These will be relating to Partners and the wider business in connection to fitness to work, medical retirement, appeals against dismissal, health surveillance and ad hoc medically related incidents.

You will regularly assess the effectiveness and relevance of the advice provided to managers and to be the ultimate escalation point for clinical opinion or exploration of a complaint.  You will also provide routine medical services e.g. Fitness to work assessments, Statutory medicals (HGV) as required.

You will be collaborating with the Quality & Innovation Manager on the approach to Clinical Governance and medical supervision to ensure that medical standards meet national guidelines. This will include adoption of new processes and embedding behavioural change within the team where appropriate.

You will be working with the Health Proposition and Operations Manager as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert on health propositions and suppliers, and will influence decisions on internal and third party support for non medical and proactive wellbeing interventions.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in medicine and current registration with General Medical Council (GMC)

  • Post graduate qualification in Occupational Medicine

  • Experience of working in occupational health service provision.

  • Leadership skills - especially influencing and inspiring others

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Health Surveillance Experience, HSE Recognised

  • Experience in auditing clinical delivery

  • HAVS accreditation

  • Experience in retail or distribution environments
