What’s the role about?

As part of the maintenance team, you will support the site by delivering planned and reactive maintenance tasks in order to provide a safe and inviting customer and Partner environment. Your role plays a vital contribution to the success of the maintenance objective plan.

As part of the role you will take on the responsibility of Duty Technician and will be the point of contact for all maintenance queries as well as providing technical support to the branch including sole technical presence on site.

What you’ll be doing:

Delivering a safe environment for Partners and customers, by undertaking planned preventative maintenance and also dealing with reactive situations as they occur. Liaising with contractors, branch management teams and fellow technicians across the John Lewis division.

Managing preventative work and dealing professionally with reactive situations.

In order to perform your duties you’ll have access to a well organised workshop space with a range of up to date equipment and a wide range of learning resources to support you in upskilling and maintaining your knowledge.

You'll ensure costs are minimised and agreed levels of service are achieved. You will provide out of hours support when required. To support in delivering the Partnership's carbon reduction programme.

What you’ll already have:

  • City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 (or JIB approved), or NVQ equivalent

  • To hold 18th edition IEE wiring regulations certificate

  • Full and clean driving licence

  • Experience in Building Services Maintenance

What else can you bring:

  • To demonstrate sufficient experience in Building Environmental, HVAC and refrigeration within the maintenance industry

  • City & Guilds qualification in mechanical discipline or NVQ 6018 “Heating & Ventilating Industrial and Commercial Installations”                               

  • Asbestos aware

  • CSCS card holder

  • Refrigeration technical training

  • To hold a relevant City and Guilds qualification or is able to demonstrate competency in a range of general building skills including: Carpentry; Plumbing; Decorating; Bricklaying; Plastering; Tiling; Flooring repairs
