We are currently looking to recruit for an enthusiastic Marketing Planning Lead - Strategy to join the team on a perm basis.

As the Marketing planning lead you will responsible for the development of the annual marketing plan and budget (c.£100m) across a 3 year to 11 month horizon as part of an integrated marketing and business planning cycle. Your output will provide the blueprint for the planning activation lead and c.250 Partners to plan the detail, activate and optimise in service of customer and John Lewis & Partners reinvention objectives.

You'll represent marketing best practice and future direction as part of strategic commercial proposition development across the business.

Job Requirements

You will be passionate about supporting the development of the marketing strategy: leads a matrix team in the strategic development of the customer-focused audience-led measurable annual marketing plan before handing over to the Marketing Planning Lead for Activation.
Supports in translating commercial and customer objectives into an articulate audience-led vision and blueprint.
Works with the Director, Marketing, finance business partner and other planning leads to oversee a holistic commercial view of the marketing plan.
Champions marketing as a growth lever across the business

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Strong previous Marketing knowledge.
Successful strategic planning and process optimisation in a high profile, complex consumer brand (eg. multiple verticles or brands)
An understanding of the entire marketing mix and levers for growth.
Evidence of building and justification of an annual budget within a large multi-faceted organisation.
Success in leading and influencing cross-functional matrix teams.
Successful at communicating and influencing at a senior level within a commercially focused organisation.
Strong Google Sheets/Excel and Google Slides/PowerPoint skills Has delivered cultural change.
