London or Bracknell based with travel to other head offices and site locations as required.across both sites and to other properties across the estate.

Duties & Responsibilities

Property & Development Partners are key to designing and developing new stores and service propositions, refurbishing existing buildings, and maintaining and managing our estate. Taking a Partnership First view, the function make the most of opportunities across both brands, driving consistency and greater coordination, while maintaining a strong focus on customers and what make each brand unique.

Do you have detailed knowledge and proven experience in the design, delivery, commissioning and problem solving aspects engineering, construction and architecture?

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead the Project Engineering, Architecture, Standards & Systems team. You will be leading a team to deliver technical & architectural solutions, in a sustainable and affordable manner on all new space projects, for the John Lewis Partnership
You will have extensive experience in the construction industry with senior leadership skills, able to lead a team to deliver the divisional strategic direction of the business.
Experienced in influencing senior stakeholders, government and non-government organisations via round table and lobbying activities.

Job Requirements

Lead the Pan Partnership Project Engineering, Architecture, Standards & Systems team giving leadership vision to deliver coordinated technical & architectural solutions, driving innovative technology and techniques to deliver energy efficient, sustainable and affordable solutions on all new space projects, trading and non-trading for the John Lewis, Waitrose and Group across the programme with annual spend of circa £120 million.

Lead the development and sustained implementation of a Building Information Modelling Strategy for the two trading divisions. Ensure it is well defined, cost effective and efficiently delivers information to all capital projects to create efficiency and design clarity in the two capital programmes for John Lewis and Waitrose.

Manage the design, delivery of all Architectural & Engineering solutions in line with Divisional strategic direction, driving efficiency and reduction in all aspects of our capital spend.

Leadership to ensure the team deliver a building standards platform that creates clear and concise external elevations and building architecture to define how we build, refurbish and redevelop our estate, supporting the growth of the Partnership and keeping our Partners and customers safe.

Lead the strategic development of the Property Systems Strategy to ensure the divisions and development teams are equipped with systems which support and promote efficiencies.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- Extensive experience in a relevant discipline e.g. Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Sustainability, Environment, building services, industrial engineering etc. or a proven record with qualifications supporting role with experience

- Confident in leading a team that oversea Technical Design of Projects.

- Membership, or actively working towards membership, of a relevant Professional Institute

- Proven Leadership and management of a diverse range of projects and subject matter. Facilitates change and adapts style to match situation

-Actively support the delivery of the Property and Development objectives

-Effectively communicate to ensure teams/individuals are better informed in Partnership policies and strategic direction, and are aware of what must be done to
deliver and sustain results Use experience, analysis and judgment to focus on what's important to deliver value to our business

-Coach, lead & support teams to manage change and different ways of working

-Develop and review own performance against agreed personal objectives

-Demonstrate a willingness to undertake personal development training in order to
gain greater skills

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Chartered or MSc level qualification in relevant discipline and corporate membership of an appropriate Institution; or suitable experience of managing environmental and carbon project teams in the procurement of all aspects of energy and sustainability services

-Can evidence strong project and programme management skills

-Regularly works across numerous business areas delivering results

- Experience influencing senior stakeholders, government and non-government organisations

- Experience of governing large change programmes
