Travel between our London and Bracknell offices will be required as part of this role.

Duties & Responsibilities

The new Waitrose Design Centre of Excellence has been created to deliver a world-class expression of the brand across the entire Waitrose customer journey.

The centre is responsible for setting the vision and visual direction for the company, as well as creating and commissioning design from both internal and external teams and agencies. It will also advise and collaborate with colleagues across the Partnership to ensure a consistent delivery of the design vision.

Job Requirements

As the Manager Creative Design, you will lead the Creative Design team to support the interpretation of the vision and direction for the expression of the Waitrose brand across multiple channels and formats.

Strong leadership and an in-depth understanding of design are a key requirement of the role as you will deputise for Head of Design and support in the day to day running of the Design Centre of Excellence.

You will be working across multiple design disciplines including packaging, POS and in-store comms. An understanding of design in the digital arena would be advantageous.

Collaboration is needed with Planning and Production and the wider business areas of Commercial, Customer and Retail directorates.

Being able to translate creative vision and direction, both internally and externally and leading on the development of creative propositions and concepts will be a fundamental requirement of the role.

You will be ensuring our Partners thrive, reach their full potential and consistently delivers on distinctive creative output that engages our customers and delivers the agreed expression of the Waitrose brand.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Design Degree
Strong background in design FMCG
Stakeholder Management
Project Management
Proven track record in leading a design team
Experience of managing a visual brand at a senior level
Food Art Direction experience is highly desirable
