Our Purpose

Working in Partnership for a happier world – our shared Purpose that guides us in everything we do and inspires 3 important principles; happier people, happier business, happier world. The John Lewis Partnership is a truly unique business, one that seeks to make a positive difference to the lives of everyone.

At a glance

  • Due to working regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.

  • The salary range for this role is set at £24,400 - £32,000.

  • This position is a permanent, full time contract and will work on a rota basis covering a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

About the role

As a Loss Prevention Partner (LPP) in our Profit Protection team, you will add value to the efficiency and profitability of John Lewis & Partners. In this role, you will:

● Mitigate the risk of malicious harm to Partners and Customers;

● Manage shrinkage performance within budget and risk appetite.

You will play a key role in a John Lewis branch, by investigating trends and reporting on key themes, thoroughly investigating shrinkage to protect our profit. You'll protect your fellow Partners and customers, patrolling the shop floor to deter potential theft and monitoring CCTV for signs of suspicious behaviour.

The role will address all aspects of Shrinkage, including, though not exclusive to, external and internal dishonesty, procedural failure, and administrative error within the John Lewis Partnership.

You will need to be confident and reassuring to be able to de-escalate conflict situations in the branch professionally. You will raise awareness of all aspects of shrinkage by supporting and coaching fellow Partners.

What do our Loss Prevention Partners enjoy about their role?

“The LPP role is very rewarding. We are there to protect Partners and customers alike; it's about giving great customer service when patrolling the shop floor, building relationships within the branch, and generally being there to support others. The wider LPP community offers great support when in need. Being part of a great team myself, we work closely together as well as with the local police in the community. I enjoy investigations, whether it's looking into shop theft or stock issues, or even helping customers around the store.”

Kate, Loss Prevention Partner

“You really feel that you are doing something for others, and working in a Partnership gives you a sense of belonging.”

Tim, Loss Prevention Partner
