Duties & Responsibilities
Help shape the future John Lewis & Partners as we continue to buck the trend and increase market share.
THE RETAIL LANDSCAPE IS CHANGING
The high street and digital space of the future and how they overlap is drastically changing. Consumer shopping behaviours are changing meaning retailers need to respond to continue to be relevant and compelling.
AT JOHN LEWIS & PARTNERS, WE'RE AHEAD OF THE CURVE
Thanks to a long-game strategy focusing on reinvention and differentiation, we're investing heavily in strengthening our proposition. That's why we're regularly observed as a retailer responding innovatively to these challenges: In 2018, we've grown sales, customer numbers and market share, and substantially increased our customer experience ratings via our Net Promoter Score.
Recently, we rebranded to reflect the important role that our Partners play. With over 40% of our sales delivered online, we're leading the high street in omni-channel shopping and powering change with the way we deliver exceptional 'experience' shopping across all channels.
WHERE YOU COME IN
We're committed to continuing to supercharge our strategy of change and want to invite you to come and join us. You'll be working alongside the best talent around in an exciting and forward-thinking workplace. We're investing passionately in scaling our abilities across the business and the Product team itself is following a reimagined strategy whereby the focus is on end-to-end design thinking.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR TALENTED LEAD UX WRITERS
If you're an experienced Lead UX Writer who has the portfolio to prove it, why not join us? This is a very hands-on lead role where you'll be working closely with your manager and team to shape and nurture a growing UX writing practice within the UX/UI community in Product. You will love planning, creating and advocating all things copy, embedding copy-first thinking and a test and learn mindset into the team DNA. You'll be a people-person who is comfortable leading, mentoring and constructively challenging a small team of UX Copywriters, supporting and helping stimulate and drive team-related activities. You'll be relentless in your pursuit of shaping healthy and collaborative working practices and evangelising a customer focus across the business. You'll be an influencer, master of ceremonies and guide - it's all about working closely with your team and wider stakeholders, creating new products and services our customers love and need. Experience in the complexities of digital content strategy is a must as we explore exciting new ways to engage with our customers.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
You'll be a part of our unique employee-owned partnership where we really care about our business. You'll feel the investment of pride and effort all around you. Along with a competitive salary and lots of cool benefits, you'll also reap the rewards of your hard work, as we make sure it is reinvested in our business for your benefit.
Through being a Partner, you'll receive our incredibly competitive range of benefits, which includes:
- Partnership discount card with up to 25% discount off John Lewis and 15% off Waitrose)
- Access to our 5 privately-owned hotels and other destinations
- A competitive pension package
- Up to £250 towards a non-working related learning activity of your choice
- Regular access to sample sales (items are usually 10% off the retail cost)
- Free access to many UK Heritage sites. Discounted tickets to a whole host of tourist destinations
- Up to £60 per year towards the cost of concert or theatre tickets
