If you are looking for a hotel with something different and some history to work in, then Leckford Abbas, our Place in the Hampshire Countryside could be the place for you. The Abbas is not only a hotel set in breathtaking countryside within the Leckford Estate, and one of the Partnership owned hotels across the country which are run by Partners for Partners, it used to be the home of our Founder John Spedan Lewis.
Visitors to the Abbas can stay in Spedans old bedroom or sit out and enjoy the same views he saw when he was drawing up his plans for the Partnership, setting it up to be one of the longest running British companies.
What you can expect in this role?
Working in the hotel, you’ll be surrounded by a team of passionate and dedicated hospitality Partners to give our guests the best experience whether they are with us for the day or a longer stay. What is different about our guests though, is that they are Partners, their friends and family. As co-owners in the business, you’ll see this difference in the way your teammates and you approach your job and carry out your responsibilities.
You’ll be working closely with all of the kitchen brigade, being responsible for maintaining standards in the kitchen in food safety as well as cleanliness, stock rotation and efficient handling of deliveries.
The role also allows you hands-on experience in food preparation and handling, assisting the chefs with basic food preparation as well as making sandwiches for the guests and you will also receive ongoing training with progression opportunities if you want them.
What can we offer you?
Working at the Abbas, you will get to work in a beautiful location with some of the best views and countryside that Hampshire has to offer. Whilst working you will receive free meals on duty in addition to the great benefits that our Partners receive such as paid holiday, discount in our Waitrose & John Lewis shops and many other benefits designed to allow our Partners a great work / life balance.
You will also be working with experienced and talented members of our kitchen brigade who can share their skills and knowledge with you, allowing you a great start into a hospitality career or opening up another avenue or skill set for you in an established career.
We will also provide you training to help you obtain the skills and qualifications to work in a food hospitality environment, if you do not already have these.
What do you need?
