Our award winning Testing and Environments Practice (TEP) is looking for a Release Engineer (internally known as Product Engineer) to help build our Engineering capability here at the John Lewis Partnership Head Office based at London, Victoria.

Job Requirements

The Release Engineer is a key lead & technical role that ensures and assures high quality Delivery outcomes for Partnership IT. You will across one or more multi skilled agile delivery teams, taking new products from idea through to implementation, in support of our Business Strategy. Able to thrive with high levels of ambiguity, you'll work with a hypothesis that is supported, disproven or evolves during a process typically involving short iterations to deliver value.

You'll be sought out to coach, mentor and train others, driving continuous improvement and adoption of new techniques. Additionally, you'll have a strong desire to build our identity and reputation in the marketplace whilst being an advocate for Partnership IT (both internally and externally).

Key to success in the Release Engineer role is the harvesting of good practice from outside the organisation and driving the implementation of new ways of working into the Partnership. They will have expert depth and breadth in skills. The depth will be in their core skill. The breadth means that they have sufficient capability in other skills, to allow the team to deliver greater value and increased flow. They will stay on top of tech trends, experimenting and learning. They will be seen as driving the use of innovative technologies, learning from members of our Communities, and building our reputation in the marketplace.
