Job Requirements

- Acting as subject matter expert for issues relating to product safety, microbiology, chemistry, pesticides, contaminants and authenticity.
- Lead the delivery of a risk assessed surveillance programme with support from the team and the contract laboratory.
- Set in place effective ways of working and management review processes with the contract laboratory to ensure a high level of service, support and ongoing development.
- Work closely with Category Teams and Regulatory Affairs & Trading Law teams to effectively mitigate risks identified via internal or external insight.
- Represent Waitrose & Partners with appropriate Non Governmental Organisations and Government agencies - ensuring that Waitrose & Partners is an active member of working groups and projects where appropriate value can be obtained.
- Ensure that we maximise the value from the Product Integrity & Authenticity budget for both Waitrose & Partners and our suppliers.
- Clearly identify and communicate trends and top issues to appropriate stakeholders ensuring effective and timely actions in place.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Extensive experience of Product Integrity & Authenticity management system within the food and drink
Experience of non-food Product Integrity & Authenticity management systems
