We are reinventing our business for the modern retail world. Our Strategy area for the Partnership will ensure that all of our customer data and insights are used to define where we will play, how we will win and what we will prioritise to ensure that the strategic direction of our business is clear and unambiguous. We are looking for a Data Scientist that can work autonomously, drive forward best practices and be an advocate for the Data Science discipline across the business.
What's the role about?
The core of this role is to help the Partnership make insight-driven, better informed, customer-centric decisions. In order to do this, you will need to work closely with teams across the Partnership, getting close to their world, hearing their problems and spotting the opportunities for improvement.

We encourage our Data Scientists to continuously develop through hackathons, half day development Fridays and on the job learning. It is highly encouraged for Data Scientists to seek out new best practices and corroborate their findings with the rest of the team.
What you will have
Significant work experience in a data science and/or ML engineering role.
Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Physical Sciences or similar/equivalent technical field.
Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to work across functional teams to translate business issues into potential analytical solutions.
A self starter that is enthusiastic in shaping and tackling the big questions that the business should be focusing on.
Strong experience with applied statistics and standard data science techniques.
Experienced user of Python (preferred) or R alongside relevant packages and libraries.
Comfortable working with command-line tools.
Experienced user of Git version control.
Highly analytical mindset with problem solving attitude.
Strong experience with data visualisation and the graphical presentation of key messages and concepts.
Experience with Cloud technologies (GCP, AWS Azure). GCP preferred.
Experience with the implementation of end-to-end Machine Learning solutions, cookie-cutter best practices, and ML Ops.
What else you could bring
Experience with People Management.
Experience in retail, marketing and e-commerce.
Experience with Agile methodologies.
