Duties & Responsibilities

Our Industrial Placement Programme within Customer Insight will make you see retail in a new light. Our unique Partnership different and approach to business will enable you to get the most out of your placement year. Our placements combine hands on experience with real projects you will also receive relevant on the job training.

As an industrial placement student you will provide project management support for the Customer Insight department on key programmes into the customer, market and competitor. Supporting ad hoc Insight projects , Insight events, and routine reporting that enables internal clients to make informed customer facing decisions that drive value for Waitrose.

Job Requirements

During your Industrial Placement in Customer Insight you'll have a variety of key accountabilities, these will include;

Project and Research Management
- Provide project management and Customer Insight support (e.g. Liaise with agency partners, monitor market activity and run key insight events)
- Manage small scale ad hoc research projects end to end.
- Deliver recommendations that are grounded in customer insight but also make sound business sense (with line manager guidance where required).

Stakeholder Management
- Identify and build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, flexing communication style where required, and actively seeking regular feedback

Supplier Management
- Build effective relationships with agency suppliers to ensure they understand the Waitrose business, specific project requirements and deliver strong results

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

As part of your degree, be able to take a year out in industry commencing July 2020

The assessment centre for this role will be held in November 2019. The placement will start on Monday 6th July 2020.
