Pay and Hours:
Start times are between 13:00 and 18:00. Based on a 4 hr window.
Working hours are 47.5 hours per week, any 5 from 7 days including some weekend working on a rotation.
Your performance will drive your pay and progression here at John Lewis & Partners. We believe in rewarding Partners for their hard work. You’ll regularly meet with your People Manager to discuss your performance and set goals throughout the year so that you can understand how to improve and develop within your role.
More about the role:
Complete all branch / distribution centre deliveries and supplier collections within given timescales.
Complete all vehicle checks and follow correct defect reporting procedures
Complete all required documentation accurately
Operate the vehicle in a safe and economical manner with feedback from our telematics systems.
Ensure that your vehicle is maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
Effectively communicate problems and delays to all relevant parties
Safely loading and unloading whilst complying with the correct procedures for given location
Maintain a full knowledge of the Highway code, WTD, EU Drivers Hours Regulations and Vehicle operations
Ensure all Legal, Health and Safety legislation and Operational procedures are adhered to and to work within Health and Safety guidelines at all times ensuring the safety of self and others
Ensure all Personnel procedures are adhered to and completed
Valid LGV1 C+E driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points)
Valid (DCPC) Drivers Qualification Card
Valid Digital Tachograph Card
Previous experience driving an articulated goods vehicle.
Previous experience in retail supply chain

LGV1 C+E Driver - Magna Park - Afternoon Shift
As a driving professional you’ll already know of the critical importance our transport teams have to John Lewis & Partners. Our LGV Class 1 drivers ensure stock is in the right place at the right time for our customers right across the UK.
Based at our John Lewis NDC in Magna Park, Milton Keynes, you’ll be transporting goods to and from John Lewis Partnership Branches, Customer Delivery Hubs, RDC`s, NDC`s or to nationwide change over points in our modern fleet of articulated vehicles. You’ll have responsibility for the vehicle you’re taking out that day, completing all unit/trailer checks and safety checks before any departure and following the correct defect reporting procedures. Once on the road, you’ll be an ambassador for the John Lewis Partnership brands, upholding the high standards we are known for whilst adhering to the driving laws and regulations.
