Duties & Responsibilities

This rewarding role will requires a creative, proactive and forward thinking professional who can provide advice on a wide range of health and safety issues across the Herbert Parkinson working environments.
The successful candidate must have the leadership and communication skills to be able to instil a proactive safety culture through the implementation of a robust Health and Safety program that is consistently delivered by all individuals within the branch

Please note internally this role is known as Branch Safety Advisor

Job Requirements

Responsibilities to include;
- Safe systems of operational procedures created and in place which identify and take into account all relevant hazards.
- Prepare health and safety strategies in line with divisional strategy and develop local policy
- Carry out risk assessments and regular branch inspections to check Health and Safety policies and procedures are being properly implemented
- Lead in-house training with managers and Partners about health and safety issues and risks
- Ensure that equipment is installed safely, including updated PUWER assessments
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 responsibilities

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- Entry level health and safety advisor role with some academic or professional qualifications, eg. NEBOSH General Certificate
- Experience working in a safety role in a similar manufacturing industry
- Able to negotiate and influence convince managers to implement and maintain safety standards that may compromise efficiencies within the branch.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- An interest in law and ability to understand regulations.
