What you’ll be doing:
By formulating a sourcing strategy you will investigate emerging markets whilst working alongside regional Managers in sourcing offices for in region input. You will also implement ways to ensure that global sourcing strategy/plans are followed and are aligned to organisational and directorate goals and objectives. In addition you will support the development and delivery of detailed category sourcing plans and targets by area for delivery by category specialists.
Working closely with those Category Sourcing Specialist for category input you will be responsible for cross category consolidation and factory consolidation alongside Sourcing office’s.
Research vendor and production strategies and investigate new sourcing opportunities.
Shape and influence category sourcing strategy alongside supplier management and in line with directorate strategy. This will also be in line with achieving targeted cost savings and achieving the targeted number of suppliers in the supplier base. You will also investigate emerging/new markets to open up new routes for product supply.
Ensure the vendor base can meet business capacity requirements. When required intervene if KPI’s are not being achieved, ensuring the right stakeholders are involved and relevant solutions developed.
Utilise data driven by analyst and sourcing specialist, to feed back into category team to change directions and build on targets. You will also recommend speed to market critical path improvements.
Feed into directorate leads to ensure buy in of strategies. Ensuring strategy and outcomes are aligned to the Directorate sustainability and quality targets.
Work with relevant business sections to ensure they can support the strategy such as Quality & Technical, Ethics & sustainability and Logistics and planning teams
What you’ll have:
Experience in direct sourcing at a senior level.
Strong knowledge of global sourcing markets in related fields.
Experience of leading a team.
Strong senior stakeholder relationships locally and globally.
Experience of delivering consistent margin improvements through new and incumbent supply bases
Experience in E2E product development
What else you could bring:
Degree in relevant field e.g. Merchandising
Experience of working in in country sourcing offices
Experience with a similar type of retailer
Experience of working with teams located in different regions in the world

As a Sourcing lead within the Sourcing Profession you will be accountable for setting the overall sourcing strategy objectives and targets which align to the directorate strategy. You will have a strong knowledge of global sourcing markets and use your extensive knowledge of emerging and new markets and trends, as well as your experience in building and managing strong stakeholder relationships at both a local and global level, to ensure organisational global sourcing requirements are met.
You will drive and deliver profitability and targets through the sourcing team ensuring cost savings and supplier base targets are achieved.
