What's the role about?

For Merchandising Operations it is critically important time to invest in the future of the Partnership’s Food and Grocery business, delivering significant customer benefits through improved availability, financial benefits through reduced wastage and reduced stockholding, operational benefits through increased efficiency, and Partner benefits through improved stock management processes.

As part of the Merchandising Operations team you will be focused on creating demand forecasts at item-location level. These demand forecasts are the foundation for all end to end supply chain planning, stock ordering and replenishment activity, and are critical in ensuring the successful delivery of the Operational and Trading plans. Forecasting activity is strongly linked to customer strategy, customer planning, and trade planning, and directly feeds into the planning activity in Merchandising.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Forecasting Analyst, Food and Grocery Merchandising on a 9 month fixed term, 12 month fixed term or Permanent basis.

What will you be doing?

  • Create forecasting models and optimise demand forecasts for events; national and local (e.g. Christmas and Wimbledon).

  • Influencing and optimising planning decisions within the Category Proposition Group by providing insight, analysis and direction, for example through scenario modelling.

  • Proactively engaging with stakeholders to ensure detailed knowledge of upcoming new shops, shop closures and refurbishment activity are incorporated into optimised forecasts.

  • Translating data and technical insight into language which can be understood and actioned by stakeholders.

What you’ll have?

  • Forecasting experience using large data sets; knowledge of SAS or similar forecasting systems.

  • You will have proven experience in using data for analysis and decision making.

What else could you bring?
